PC 6519, U25C, 1968
AHC. Here is an original 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in April of 1968. Shown here (R to L) is Penn Central engine #6519 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #6519 is a U25C built by General Electric for the Pennsylvania Railroad in December of 1965. They're serving as tail-end pushers on a freight train that's rounding the Curve on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin, where they'll be uncoupled and returned to East Altoona for yet another helper or pusher run up "The "Mountain."
