Here is a photo via Forrest W. Trittenbach that was taken near Glassport, Pennsylvania, on 8 September 1946. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6227, a B-6SA (0-6-0) switcher built in Juniata during January of 1914 and retired in November of 1949 after 35 years of faithful service. Note that the bell and the main driving rods have been removed in preparation for scrapping. Williams Collection. |
