Album Info:
The Coalbrookdale RR is an 8-mile branch line (ex-Reading Company) that connects with NS’ Philadelphia-to-Harrisburg mainline in Pottstown, PA and runs from there up to Boyertown, PA following the valley of Ironstone Creek. The last on-line freight shipper dried up recently so the status of the line’s continuance was looking grim. A group of railroad fans in Boyertown have organized to try to the save the line by operating it as a tourist hauler plus trying to resume service to some of the former on-line freight customers. The Coalbrookdale RR group has adopted a marketing-savvy nickname; The Secret Valley Line. They're also apparently politically savvy because they've obtained a state grant to rehabilitate the track. They’re hoping to be operating tourist trains by Fall, 2014. They recently acquired a nicely restored ex-PRR N5B Cabin car that now sits on the property in downtown Boyertown. On an adjacent track sits BDLX 7580, a long-in-the-tooth GP-10 that formerly worked the Pennsylvania Supply Quarry west of Annville, PA. Prior to the quarry, the locomotive was CR 7580. I wish the Coalbrookdale RR group success, and hope to ride one of their trains before the end of 2014!

Phoenix Steel Column Crane dating back to the 1860's
Description:
Crane was apparently installed by the Philadelphia & Reading for unloading cars in the yard. The Colebrookdale RR group has refurbished it.
